Canon announces log feature upgrade for the 5d Mark IV

Maybe a meaningful upgrade, I don't know. But those who just forked out 4000 € for the new camera can spend another 99.- (or more here in Europe) in July if they want the upgrade for video or just to keep the resale value of the body.

It does at least bring the 5D4 up to other company's $700 camera standards for 4K ;). It was an almost unforgivable omission from the 5D4. I think it's silly of them to charge for something that virtually every other camera that records 4K has.

Withholding seems to be the new thing with an add on app...Sony's new A9 is a bare bone 4k (no log for instance).

Fortunately I do not do much video and only do stuff for fun. $99 dollars extra on an already crippled camera? I will wait for Sony to sort out the long primes first.

Exactly Sony is going to be charging $1.000.00 more and not including C log. It's all about the money...
