Imaging Resource had an interview with the big wigs from Sony (since taken down) that Sony would no longer supply the newest and best sensors to 3rd party manufacturers.

I don't think this is much of a change from recent behavior, they have not as of yet ever supplied the 42mp sensor to anyone... It does not mean that other companies won't get to purchase Sony sensors, it's one of their most profitable businesses, it just means that they won't get them before or at the time that Sony gets them.

It also doesn't mean that medium format companies won't get what are actually Sony's BEST sensors.

I didn't know that the MF sensors were BSI, super fast readout and 4k and they also have to be put behind those huge slow lenses, I guess us peons will have to get by with 35mm

The next generation, which is already sampling, will have all of that and it won't likely be productized first in a Sony camera ;)
BTW, the Sony 100mp sensor can do time lapse at 12K resolution now - the problem is finding video tools that can handle 12K video streams.  Coincidentally, just today, Digital Transitions introduced 12K time lapse software for the IQ3100.  Another thing that that sensor is capable of is fully electronic shutter, not just first curtain but fully electronic.

Considering the Nikon D810 has had the 36MP Sony sensor for so long it is obviousl that Sony are pushing their own products now (no suprising or a bad thing). I guess when the newer A7 series cameras arrive Nikon will maybe get the 42MP sensor. I have to say though, the D810 is still a great camera.
