Tamron just introduced what, on paper, looks like the first true 100% professional grade 70-200 f/2.8 that should be able to compete favorably with the awesome Canon 70-200 f/2.8 II and the just plain mind blowing new Nikon 70-200 f/2.8E.  The lens foot even includes an Arca Swiss dovetail.  I plan on putting this lens through it's paces when available.  Here is the press release on dpreview.
