Does anyone know where I can obtain an adaptor so I can mount a SB-900 in a shoe and have 1/4-20 threads on the opposite side?

Thanks
Larry

Do you mean like one of these?

Those are all hot shoe adapters with various cables to run between the camera and the shoe.

I'm not sure, from your description, of what you are looking for, but I have used the AS-10 Anthony mentioned to mount a flash to a stand and used a cord to connect between flashes. They have 1/4x20 threads on the bottom.

Thanks Joe. I picked one up on Ebay for $20.00. I'm going to set 3 flashes using Nikon's wireless system to shoot high speed hummingbird pictures this summer. I'm going to use the AS-10 to mount one SB-900 to a light stand.

Thanks

You don't need anything fancy like that for hummer photography. Just use the plastic stand that comes with each Speedlight. It has the flash mount and a thread on the bottom that will screw on to any light stand ;)

You don't need it unless the wireless doesn't work as you imaged it would. Then you need to wire it or get radio controlled triggers to get it to work.
