The camera feels really good in the hands and the AF seems very fast, though I was just shooting cars it feels better then the 1dmkiv. I am going to go shoot ducks after work then report back.

The shutter is also extremely quiet!

I am liking the new way of controlling the AF modes and the new viewfinder is really awesome, I am loving the digital level.

I wish I had the battery grip but they said it would be a week or so.

The thread on the announcement of the 7D Mk II has gotten unwieldy so lets use this new thread to post user experience related comments now that cameras are starting to get into users hands...

I have moved the few comments that have already been made to this new thread

Preferably with whites and darks that have texture, rather than flat black or white; at ISO 400, 800 & 1600

Anyone knows if the Canon 7D Mark II is considered a Pro camera, therefore special CPS pricing
will apply in Canada? ( Or in USA )

Karl, just call your local store with your CPS number, they'll tell you.

Shot taken at 16000ISO, used dfine to remove the noise and I added contrast as it was a little washed out.

Here is my best shot taken tonight. 6400ISO full frame plus I added a little canvas.
I removed the noise using define and topaz denoise and also used detail extractor on the head and back to bring back the detail.

The AF seems to be very very good and is better then my 1dmkiv especially with the 1.4 extender and the smaller battery seems to have no issue driving my 500mm.

One think I don't like is the thumb wheel I wish they kept it like the other cameras as I feel this one has less grip and will be harder to use with gloves on.

Cool. Good to see you're having fun with the new camera and for sharing the photos. What about a 100% crop of the head without noise reduction applied? 100% crop for the dark neck area of the first photo? Just curious what it looks like before noise reduction and resizing.

Which ai-servo mode did you use and what aperture and shutter speed?  Where was the AF point on?  I know, questions, questions, questions :-)

+1, this would be more useful than the images you've posted.  Would particularly like to see the mallard shot without any noise reduction.  The image you posted has the typical look of a noise-reduced image, with little, if any, feather detail.

Mine should arrive this morning, and I plan to do some serious photography with it this weekend (including a trip to Bosque del Apache).

My 7D MK2 just arrived.  Battery is charging.  And it is nice outside :-). Cold but no rain.  Camera feels mich more substantial than my 7 year old 40D.

Battery grip and 3 extrq batteries on pre-order.

Trying not to be too demanding; but, if anyone is going post images I think it would be more informative if they were to post their work plus an unprocessed version side by side. IMHO; as I believe we're all really interested in the noise, as per the original 7DII thread. Nonetheless, thanks for the images Corey.

I agree, almost any image can be made to look good at web sizes.

Just shot some backyard birds with it. First impression is that it is a fairly significant improvement over the original 7D that I sold long ago and never liked the noise on. With my everyday body being a 1DX it's shocking how many pixels are on the subject. I had sort of gotten used to full frame. I shot some with the 600 and similar with the 1DX and 1.4 and when viewing images at actual pixels the 7D images are still huge. Noise is "to my eye", and super limited shooting, fine at 800 with good exposure. What I shot 1600 will clean up well.

Comparing is hard for me as Adobe is my everyday converter and I had to convert images with DPP and have not used it for years and it's all new anyway. This will make a great backup body for me and maybe even more than that at times. By no means conclusive to me and more use I may change my mind but looks good to me considering all the other specs and the price.

I don't have my normal PC so I am shooting jpegs I turned everything off and used the standard picture setting.

shot at 3200 ISO, from my limited time using it I think anything below 1600ISO is very good unless you can overwhelm the subject with pixels then you can go higher if need be.
