I just purchased a 6300 body and my Zeiss 24-70 FE lens will not seat but it works fine on a7r and NEX6. The metabones adapter also will not seat -is the normal??

Definitely not normal. Sounds like there is something wrong with the mount. It may just be that the 4 screws aren't tight. Make sure they are and if it still doesn't work, just return the camera for a new one. You could also compare carefully the mount between the two cameras to determine what's different.

What I don't get is why three Zeiss lens work and one doesn't I do notice the the fit on the A6300 is ver tight. The metabones
adapter isn't even close to fitting. This is very strange.

Make sure you use JIS screwdrivers so you won't strip out the heads.

Japanese Industrial Standard....even though it looks like a Philips, it has a different point.  Look to Amazon for bundles.
