I know that Sony recommends that you turn off SteadyShot when using the camera on a tripod but what should you do when using the camera on a monopod? After all the camera can still move in two directions when on a monopod - forward and back and left and right. I think you should probably turn on SteadyShot but wanted to check here to verify that may thinking is correct.

I would leave it on when mounted to a monopod.
