Granulated Ground Beetle (Carabus granulatus)

Apparently this beetle came over to Canada from Europe, where I understand it is fairly common.  I has become a bit more common here in the right locations.  This is about 80 frames stacked in Helicon Focus. Please click on image to view full size.

Looks like a creature from a scary movie! Excellent resolution and detail. It's little friend looks a bit more friendly. ;)
