Acc to my Guide to local bees, this is the Black-Notched Cloak-and-Dagger Bee first named in 1919 (Cockerell)
I think among the few subjects I have, this one has the most colourful common name.  And its status according to the same guide is "Uncommon". So quite happy to stumble upon it.....

90D, 180Canon, 1/200, f13, flash, image rotated and cropped, Photopea.

Hope u like this image and comments welcomed.

What a find, Darren! This one makes quite a statement and what an explosion of colour. Amazing - and very aptly named.

Well spotted and taken.

Carol.

Great find, and a fine capture of an unusual bug.

Impressive shot- love the colorful bee, and well seen on the flower. Congrats on your find.
