Probably the most exotic wild orchid we have encountered to date - the rare Calypso bulbosa, aka Fairy Slipper, which only blooms in a few select spots in Scandinavia.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great WE.

Thank you, David. Temperatures are finally dropping locally - like most in Europe we're fervently hoping to finally get some much needed rain next week.

What a delicate and beautiful species!  You must be thrilled to find them and get such a lovely image as this.  What a treat!

We are still roasting this weekend in the awful heat and an official drought has been declared in several counties including here in Lincolnshire.  We sincerely hope that we get some rain next Mon/Tues/Weds, and much lower temperatures for the poor parched earth and wilting humans!

Enjoy the weekend as much as possible, we are flaked out - both humans and dog!

Carol.

With you on that one bro'.   Our temps I hope will drop next week.  Rain would be a godsend provided it doesn't come all in one go in extremes modus.

All the very best.
