Hybrid Ophrys Orchid

The Ophrys orchids are renowned for their ability to cross-pollinate and generate interspecies hybrids. We recently came across such a variant which appears to be a hybrid between the early and late spider orchid varieties (Ophrys sphegodes & Ophrys fuciflora).

Composite image merged with Helicon Focus and processed with PS.

Nikon D500 with Tamron 90mm macro.

After what you said about being dark........ this one could do with a touch more light for my tastes, Sinuhe - but I can still see that it looks like a tiny Pug dog!

Thanks for the feedback Carol - need to calibrate my monitor and watch my adjustments
