Every year I look for these round-lobed Hepatica on my land. The old leaves can be seen all year, but these are bright and new, with two tentative buds waiting for warmer weather. They came out before colts-foot- our usual first widflower arrivals.

Love the contrast between the green leaves and the browns. The ever hopeful Hepatica look like they won't keep you waiting for long, Cindy.

Beautifully done, Cindy! So many hidden gems go unnoticed because we look up rather than down in nature. Great composition and a real harbinger of spring among the leaf litter. Love it!!

Lovely forest floor scene, nice positioning of the green leaves - I bet they'll bloom soon!
