Lantana Scrub-Hairstreak
Strymon bazochii

On, of course, Lantana.

National Butterfly Center
Mission, TX

In the U.S, found only in the Lower Rio Grande Valley. Tiny and drab, they're easily overlooked - unless you get a glimpse of their topside. I got a peek here.

Lovely detail and so nice to see that bit of pretty blue. I think this might look nice rotated 90 degrees to the right too. But that would be pretty conventional, I suppose. I do like the diagonal line from the flower through the wings.

Really nice capture. They as always have nice colours in their top sides.

I enjoy this view but a 90deg rotation is fine too.

I have to agree that it is a beautiful capture, Craig - but wish it was rotated to a more conventional 90Deg upright. I only say this as my first action on opening the image was to tilt my head and view it sideways!
