This image of Saffron flower is taken just before it blooms at my garden. In this picture the Stigma of the flower is coming out very beautifully. It is a matter of proud for every gardener to bloom
this flower in his/her garden. I was very much passionate to bloom this flower in my garden. I feel myself very lucky to plant this prestigious flower in my garden and get the flower also. This is a very delicate flower and many a  times the flowers do not  come out of the ground. It maintains a flowering period especially from 2nd week of October to 2nd week of November. But its flowering season depends on the snow fall and the weather of the area considerably. There are only two places named, Pampore near Srinagar and Kishtwar of J&K where the Saffron is cultivated in India.

Well done to get this lovely little saffron crocus to grow and bloom in your garden, Subhasis. Worth its weight in gold for the prized saffron.

Carol.

I planted this due to my love for this flower. I have a very small garden. Though nearby my area there is very large land specially for cultivation of this Saffron. Kishtwar, my place is famous for its quality saffron , not only in Jammu & Kashmir but also in India.
