Not useal to find this guy this season but the temperture is not that down here , but i remember some years ago i found a guy mantis empusa late in Novermber alsmot Desember with snow and only one hand stay in the cold they are tough guys .

I also see them in the Fall as I believe that is the time they lay their eggs by encapsulating them in an egg sac before the first heavy frost. This looks to be a female that is carrying eggs. Nice looking image which highlights the mantis very well.
