Ant Orchid Chiloglottis formicifera
Ant Orchid, this little orchid stand about 10cm high and grows in sheltered damp areas in rainforest. Pollinated by wasps that attempt to mate with the labellum, some otherwise identical specimens in a related species attract different pollinator species so can be regarded as effectively different species as they don't share pollinators. Stack of 16 images in Helicon focus. Larger image: Ant Orchid Olympus OM-D EM-1 MkII + 60mm macro, diffuser 1/1.6 @ f4.5, ISO400 Chris Ross
