Ant Orchid Chiloglottis formicifera

Ant Orchid, this little orchid stand about 10cm high and grows in sheltered damp areas in rainforest.  Pollinated by wasps that attempt to mate with the labellum, some otherwise identical specimens in a related species attract different pollinator species so can be regarded as effectively different species as they don't share pollinators.

Stack of 16 images in Helicon focus.

Isn't it fascinating how plants can mimic just what they want to attract the insects! Amazing image, Chris and beautifully done.

Really nice, Chris. I do also like how the stem fades out at the bottom of the frame
