Amazing colors, the sharp eyes and wing motion of the butterfly are delightful, so is the combination with the orchid.

Nice shot Matty - butterfly is icing on the cake.

Note - this is O. apifera not O. fuciflora.

Take care and have a good WE.

Wonderful image with colors and shades so intense and delicate at the same time.
I love the effect of the slight movement of the butterfly's wings contrasting with the incredible detail throughout the image.

+1 My thought as well. The butterfly and the floral perch are both very beautiful.

This is exceptional, Matty. A beautiful combination of colors and and how wonderful to see the matching butterfly and orchid together. I have to wonder if the butterfly was seeking to appear as an orchid blossom for camouflage protection. Whatever the reason, I love the combination.

Thanks for the comments, x Cynthia: The butterfly has come to rest on the orchid has remained a few moments, just long enough to take the shot...

very arty butt-flower combo. As usual love the painterly background. The little motion blur in the wings add to the "in the moment" feeling.
