Ruddy Daggerwing
Marpesia petreus

I've only seen two before, and this one was in the best shape and by far the most cooperative; enough so that I was able to play around a bit.

Wow! Great shot! Gorgeous portrait of this beautiful butterfly with a superb color.
Very nice also the background with the games of leaves in focus and out of focus.

A beautiful butterfly. Really nice job of getting it squared up to keep it sharp overall. Very nice composition and overall image.

Thank you!  This guy gave me so much time that after I was sure I had some sharp stuff at f/13 or so, I had time to dial back and take lots of shots hoping that a few would fit that tiny DOF.

how beautiful and rare, I gather. A wonderful shot showing all it's markings and detail.

This is my favorite in your series. You nailed the sharpness in the whole butterfly, including the antenna. I like the head down pose. The green color looks natural. Well done!
Thanks for your kind comments on my recent posts. I have updated the technique information in my post.
