Beautiful composition and love the selective focus on the closer orchid.  The detail on the fg slipper reminds me of a hare, reclining on its back with its nose, bright eye and two big floppy ears flowing out on either side of its head!  :D

That said, this is a wonderful image, Sinuhe, and a real pleasure to view.  Love it!

You have a good weekend too.

Carol.

It is interesting that you use the term "queen of European Orchids" as I have been calling the Mountain Lady Slipper Orchid, Cypripedium Montanum, the Queen of Kamiak Butte, where I find her. She has a white pouch with pink striping inside and very thin white hairs in the pouch. I find the Mountain Lady Slipper to be much more beautiful than any of the approximately 40 other wildflowers I've photographed so far this year on the butte. It is by far the rarest.

This is a great shot and I love the composition! I really like the detail in the pouch that you have for the closest flower.
