Opera house Nudi  Phyllodesmium poindimei

From a dive a few weeks back in Sydney's Botany Bay near Kurnell, my first time to photograph the opera house nudi.  This small nudi is about 30mm long.

Beautiful details, love the way the luminous nudibranch contrasts with the darker setting.

So interesting to see the transparency of this creature so clearly- a fine shot. Got to wonder why they are called "Opera House". Do they, perhaps, resemble the ornate decorations on such a structure?

Great shot Chris. Is it a recent discovery to be called the Opera house?

Thanks all,

common name is what local divers call it - name for superficial resemblance to Sydney Opera house
