Excellent image of a beautiful, striking fungus. Perfect specimen.

Very nice contrast with colors complementing well. Like comp and details on fungus. Great story as well.

Love the contrast, great light for the bg - visible detail there, but the subject still pops. Centered comp and aspect ratio work great here.
I don’t stack often, when I do, just a couple of frames, so I’m trying to learn - Why f/11, 13 frames, as opposed to f8 and more frames or f/16 and fewer?

Appreciate the compliments, Craig,

The 1st stack was shot at f/5.6 and I could see that the DOF wasn't sufficient to bring the background into sharp focus without extending the stack depth substantially.  Wanting to minimize the # of images in the stack and to avoid longer exposures and diffraction at the smallest apertures, the 2nd one was shot at f/11, which yielded a good DOF in the final image.

Gorgeous green! Excellent detail- a really dynamic image- I guess I'll have to try this technique some day. Well done!
