Queen of Sheba Thelymitra varigata

From the SW of Western Australia, the queen of sheba is a spectacular and quite rare sun orchid, relatively small the flowers are about 30mm diameter.  This was in a reserve that holds a total of 14 plants flowering.  BG could be better but I wasn't prepared to tidy up the surrounding area, shooting with the telephoto lens helped a lot

Cool subject, great light, perfect DOF. While the bg may not be ideal, it’s certainly not objectionable. The center of the orchid looks to me like a cyclops pig! Great job!

Great image of beautiful orchids. great work on getting all the flowers in the same focal plane. I would have expected a smaller aperture than 5.6 to do this. I like the composition.

What a beautiful orchid, and a good angle to show that.
