Common Ringlet - Coenympha tullia. I’m on the periphery of their range, so only see a few in any given year. In my experience, they’re tough to shoot, tending to flutter low to the ground and disappear deep in the grasses as soon as they land, emerging just in time to flutter to the next spot - I look like a fool chasing them, getting low to try for a shot, then jumping up to chase them again; Great job here!

Beautiful shot, Karl! Excellent detail and a pretty setting. Hmmm-D805/500 as macro! I like it!

Beautiful colors, both butterfly and the flower are well exposed. Love the details on both. composition works great.

A fine image, and definitely Common Ringlet. I see a lot of them in my area, a neat species with interesting variations. They are an uncooperative subject!

Lovely capture, Karl. Nice detail of the colour and markings on the bf and a pretty perch too.
