Here ya go Carol! Found several more monarch caterpillars this AM- amazed, because I didn't see any adults here this year.

Early morning light-hiding somewhat under a milkweed leaf...nom, nom!  The long antennae are on it's head. The other end discharges "frass" regularly. They are voracious eaters as you can see by the half eaten leaf.  I found it difficult to get the whole critter in focus. Best I could do for now.

Now isn't that pretty!  A real snazzy dresser with that stripey, tri-coloured jacket and I like the way its body is cuved around the stem and leaf while it munches away.  Nice one, Cindy!  :)

What could be better than a Monarch Caterpillar on its host plant. Great color and detail – focus isn't bad. Look forward to more, and perhaps a full Monarch Butterfly emerging. Excellent work, Cindy.

Nice work Cynthia, I think the DOF is fine for this shot.
