Needham's Skimmer.
I have really taken a liking to macro photography. This past year I shot a lot of dragonflies, etc. So much fun.

This I loved because of the golden color.

Canon 7DM2
100-400mm @400

ISO 1600, 1/800sec, f/9.

Observing and recording nature should always be done with awe and the knowledge that it is a privilege to just be there!

Excellent image, nice face and wing detail, and soft light.

Yes, all of that and the icing on the cake for me are the beautiful complementary colours!  A lovely image, Kathy!

Lovely composition & soft color palette, judicious use of DOF, too.

Exceptional, Kathy- such lovely light, angle of view and composition. I too am just exploring macro and loving it. So cool to see such detail and intricate patterns in little things. This is a wall-hanger for sure.

I like the way the dead branch leads to dragonfly's head and the three dimensional composition with wings stretched to side and the tail going into the frame. very skillfully composed. great colors and light.

Great perch, comp, and light. Interesting matte looking eyes.
