Almost like fireworks.
Brilliant image with eye catching colors. Was this focus stacked?

Hi Stan. This image is from my now long lost Canon G11 fixed-lens camera. I bought it specifically for its macro capabilities. This image along with my seashell macros are the result of simply having the camera mounted on a tripod, use of the camera's 10 second timer function, with the flower or seashell placed upon a sheet of black foam-core board. Hand-held lighting from a high-lumen light source coming from an oblique angle does the trick. If any portion of the black-foam core is still visible, I simply decrease the "LEVELS" in post until the foam-core board goes completely black. The flower or seashell still retains its color and intensity due to the amount of light I shine on them.

Very much like fireworks - vivid colors, fine image.

Agree with above comments. I like the black background. It is really a burst of colors!
