Blacktip Bullseye, Pempheris affinis

Went for a dive on the weekend to try out my new fisheye lens in advance of a big dive trip coming up.  This shot is in the cave on the reef at Oak Park a dive site in Southern Sydney.  The fish are mainly Blacktip bullseyes with a few others thrown in, they shelter in caves and under overhangs during the day and emerge at night to feed.

Very nice colour palette hear Chris. The eyes on the fish are dramatic and add real impact to the image. I find it hard to accommodate that 37 people looked at the image and no comments left. Seems if it is not a bird it not worth commenting on. It dose seem to be a trend for less and less images with fewer comments in general. Shame though.

very nice image. the lichens on rocks adds to the richness of colors. the fish are sharp and their bulls eyes draw attention right away. I am enjoying seeing your underwater images.

Beautiful rock colors and composition, neat fish. Did you correct for fisheye distortion? Lots of fish, but the image doesn't have the "fisheye" look.

Hi

A nice shot - the fish circling the rocks in different directions are fun to see, and a nicely sharp appearance too

Nice one - good luck on that big dive

All the best
Matthew

Gorgeous shot, Chris!
The fisheye works so well too.

Almost identical to the Atlantic Copper Sweepers. Nice shot; folks perhaps don't appreciate how easy it is to blow out reflective fish with the strobes.
(I might be tempted to crop out the four or five on the right.)

I'm amazed at the color you find and capture underwater. Thanks for showing us this rarely seen world.
