I was looking through some OLD images for a friend who wanted some Frogfish pictures, so I thought I would post this orange, pumpkin looking one. They come in many colors and will slowly change colors to suit their environment (generally what color sponge they like to hunt on). The lure coming from the forehead (esca) is on a rod (Illicium) which the FF can shake to attract small fish that the FF will literally suck in by the speed with which it can open it's huge mouth.

So how cool is this? A fish fishing with a lure! Great work, Stan!

Very cool. I didn't know what I was looking at, at first - then I saw the eye. Fine (and amusing) image, thanks for posting.

I can tell you that finding these little buggers while diving is not all that easy!

Nice shot Stan, we get similar species around Sydney I'm sure I've swam straight over at least a hundred of them they are that well camouflaged.
