Slight crop from top and bottom
Natural light, hand held

Same model, same sitting.  She was really cooperative.  I was really wanting the soft bg, but now I'm second guessing my aperture; I really like the triangular thistle head arrangement, but I'm wondering if a little more DOF to render them a bit sharper would be an improvement.  Nonetheless, I'm happy.

Comments and suggestions always welcome.

The same excellent detail as the previous post, but this one has a better composition. I think the OOF foreground flower the previous post is a bit of a distraction.

Not sure which I prefer- this is a nice vertical view but not as colorful- I love the purples in the previous version. I wouldn't want to see all 3 thistle buds in focus-this is just right IMHO. Beautiful detail in the BF where it belongs.

My favourite of the three.  I like them all but this packs a punch and the composition is lovely.  A beauty, Craig!

Hi

A nice shot - the little bit of warming colour in the upper backdrop is a nice touch, and the perch works well with the subject

I like it

All the best
Matthew
