I have heard about these amazing moths, but never have seen one until this AM. Don't have a macro lens, so I grabbed my usual. Although I didn't stop the wing motion, I'm, pretty happy with a few shots I got before it buzzed off. And mostly I'm amazed to have finally found one in my garden!  It really does a great hummer imitation. It was visiting a bee balm flower.

This is awesome. These guys seem to be very popular this year in our area. Have seen a couple plus lots posted on social media. Still waiting to capture an image as good as this.

Wonderful capture, Cindy! The body is sharp and the blurred wings imply flight. That is desirable, in my opinion. Great composition.

Excellent in-flight capture of this cool moth, fine background. I see them at my butterfly bush from time to time.

You did really well with this one, Cindy!  Excellent capture.

I managed a grab shot of one a few years back, and it was nowhere near as good as yours.  :)

Hi

What can one say - an in flight shot of a  beautiful insect, very cool!

Pretty sure I say a hummingbird moth myself this year, from 40 feet of so lol

They are not native to where I live, just the exceptional heat expanded their areas I guess

All the best
Matthew
