Great first picture! The detail of the stamens is super and the slight drift off of the depth of focus into the back petal is just right. Only suggestion is to "fix" the flaws on the foreground right petal.

Terrific flower portrait, great color, detail and contrast. That combo of lens & body looks like it will work out well for you. And a heckuva telephoto macro, effective 630mm! :shock:

Thank you all and thanks for the EP. A friend of mine said that this has been one of the best flower images ha has seen lately.
I have been shooting more flowers ever since.
