Luna Moth
Actius Luna

Livingston Co, MI

5D MkIV
100-400 4.5-5.6 II @ 349mm, 500D
f/22, 1/80 sec
iso 800
Full frame
Natural light, tripod
8 image focus stack (in PS CC) - looking at it, I'm now seeing some issues along the right and bottom edges.

I've only seen 2 before, and neither provided photo ops; This one was on the side of the house, and tolerated temporary relocation.

I’m not sure if this might not be better w/ a 90* CW rotation?
Comments and suggestions always welcome.

Nice one - I like the colours. I like the orientation as presented.

I really like the angle you took on the subject and the orientation- the wings make a nice line in the frame, and it shows the head and eyes well.
I see the stacking artifacts - maybe you could try stacking in a trial version of Helicon or Zerene?

Thanks Tom,
I’ll try again w/ PS, maybe some manual manipulation of the layer masks.  I rarely stack, but if PS gives me problems, I’ll be looking into other options like those you mentioned.

Hi

I like the dynamic angle combined with the close up look - no idea about stacking, so I will leave that bit alone lol

All the best
Matthew

Great to see this close-up of a Luna. Very strong composition with the diagonal line. Not much bothered by the right corner, but not familiar with the process of image stacking. In my experience, I'd simply clone over the bottom blur...

Anyway, very nice image!
