Ecuador Butterfly on Rock Wall

Some rock walls had minerals which would seep out on certain mornings - a weather related phenomena.  Butterflies would gather at these spots.

Beautiful species. The behavior is called puddling, most commonly the minerals are in moist ground.

Lovely subject and light. Personal preference - if it were mine, since the subject is facing down, id move it up a bit in the frame (but again, that’s personal taste, and this is beautiful as is.)
