Blue blossom. I can't seem to find it in my wildflower book

I can't believe that I found these wildflowers blooming on December 30th at 3500' elevation in Shingletown.  We usually have quite a bit of snow on the ground this time of year.

I'm no expert but it looks like a type of blue phlox that is a little past it's prime.

Nice flower image - it's Vinca major (periwinkle). Not a North American wildflower, it's a garden species that you find in wild places, native to Europe and other places.
