Eastern African Doum Palm.. commonly called by everyone as Branched Palm.. as name suggests, palms don't branch out.. but this one is a specialty.. does very well in the Arid zones, their fruits are favored by Elephants, Monkeys and birds. The fruiting starts only when the trees are more than 30yrs old.. Here is one during the Sunrise..

The palm forms a striking silhouette against the colorful warm sky. Excellent image, Clement.
