Sleeping Coelioxys

Three Coelioxys bees sleeping on the same perch. There was a fourth, but it woke up.

Canon 7D
Canon 70-200 f/4L (at 70mm)
36mm extension tube
Canon speedlight with a homemade diffuser
1/160 | f/9.0 | ISO 320

Cool image, there are a few species of bees that sleep like this. Image is sharp and well lit, did you try any vertical compositions?

Thanks Chris! I never tried any vertical compositions, but I have some frames with enough room that i could probably crop them vertical.
