Nursery Web Spider protecting her young

I guess these are common spiders here, but I've never seen one on her "nursery".  I noticed some iris leaves all folded over, found a whole web full of baby spiders, and when I moved them gently, mama spider came running to protect her young. So thrilled to see this. You can just see a few of the young spiders in the background.

It was getting dark and I had to practically do a headstand to see this! ;).

Nice sharp image of a colourful and interesting spider.
The greens and bits of web add a lot.
There seems to be a lot of noise - a couple rounds of NR on everything but the spider would help.

Thanks Sandy. Yes-I did some NR. Not sure how much more I can do without losing detail. Not the ideal camera or circumstances, but I like the story. :). Sometimes that's more important to me than a perfect picture. :shock:

I almost missed this one, Cindy. Great macro work with the spider and interesting narrative.
