not my sharpest shot but I thought this guy had spectacular color
taken in alpine meadow

Great find and a fine image, I think it's Edith's Checkerspot, could be Variable Checkerspot. Seen in western US?

A nice little find - and although yes the image could be improved upon it always good to get a shot of a subject you don't often see

Very interesting species I have not seen before. Perhaps a bit of layer work on the BG will make it pop a bit more?
