The main orchid season is now rapidly drawing to a close, spurred on by the current heatwave, and it only in shady areas that one still finds a few fresh blooms.

Thanks Matthew - this weather is playing havoc with our flora - it has been so hot and dry - or too cold - that several orchid species only had few blooms - or didn't bother to flower at all.

Take care, Sinuhe.

A Lovely composition, and what I find particularly appealing is the different play of light on the main star and the smaller, supporting acts below.  The soft pinks against the greens are such a pretty combination.

The light shines through the flowers in a beautiful way - pretty midtone greens and soft shadows as well.

Thanks Tom - I was attracted to the soft light and interplay between the colours.
