My attempt to replicate Salvatore's technique....image taken from low down in the grass.

Made with Nikon and Sigma 150mm macro.

Pretty OOF foreground and background, great setting for the Orchis. Nice light as well.
I might have been tempted to bend the partial leaf on the right side out of the frame.

Overall I think you are getting to grips with the image type you wanted - room for improvement there probably is, but that can be said about most image too lol

Thanks Matthew - I view it as a work in progress.
Have ordered a mini Induro ground level tripod - should allow a very shallow vantage point - hope to try it this WE under better conditions.
