Composite Image made from a video file, involving a stack of ≈ 130 individual images merged in helicon focus.

Gorgeous flower, nice background - and a stacking technique I've not tried.

Thanks Tom

I first came across this stacking technique here:

http://learnmacro.com/image-stacking-wi ... things-up/

The advantage of video - is the fast frame rate - it takes less than a second to complete the capture - the downside is that the files are in jpeg and the added camera crop factor in video mode.

I'm still learning the ropes - wish Nikon or Fuji would offer a similar set up as Olympus or Panasonic.

Best, S

Cool looking flower with nice colors. I haven't stacked anything with more than 10 images. Looks like it worked pretty good. :-)

That's some stack! The end result is lovely, and what a beautiful flower.

Thanks Steven - Helicon does all the hard work - I just had to do minimal retouching in PS.

Hi

I think your technique had worked well - not a great lover of the partial clipping of the petal; but perhaps this is hard to judge in this technique and the overall look id stunning

All the best

Hi Matthew

the clipping occurred as I switched to video mode...... I'm not happy with it either....need to pay more attention to the live view monitor in future.

Cheers, S.
