Pycanum rubens is a giant shield bug (3 cm in length & 1.5 cm in width) that is relatively common in Singapore.  It is a tame bug that usually does not fly off with slight disturbance of its surrounding.  The nymphs undergo several stages of transformation that display different colours from red to orange to green before reaching the adult stage. Here is two red nymphs under the protection of their mother.  I welcome your C & C for improvements.

 Exif : Canon 7D, T180, f16, 1/25s, ISO 640, fill flash.

Maybe less light on (from under ?) the leaf so for more attention to the creatures. Still a very nice image. Thanks for posting.

Hi

I think you have taken a shot that is very hard to accomplished well being difficult to judge the lighting ratio's of backlight to fill flash, and shown off your skill in judging these issues. It's a superb image that balances the light wonderfully well on my monitor at least

Very very nice

All the best
Matthew
