Judging from your location of Shingletown, CA, this photo would have been taken in the vicinity of Mt. Lassen, the southern-most volcanic mountain of the Cascades, but it could equally be in the foothills of either the Coast Range or the Sierra Nevada Mts, which border the Sacramento Valley west and east.  In any case, it's a great image!  The Manzanitas dominate the chaparral typifying these environments, but  you here show them accented with winter snow, rather than their 'usual' deep green foliage (and pinkish blossoms in the spring).  Well done!

I like this a lot! The Manzanita is beautiful with snow.  This is especially nice on the darker background.

I like the composition very much - the manzanita and the pine bough are a fine combination.
