Great  Purple Hairstreak
Atlides halesus

Hi all, long time no posts - getting  back into the game.  This guy doesn't have the cleanest background, but it's a really sharp bug (imho.)

Canon 1D MkIV
EF 100-400 4.5-5.6 IS II USM @400mm
Evaluative metering @0
1/800 sec @ f11
iso 400
Handheld, natural light.
30ish% crop for comp.

Nice shot, great looking butterfly too. you could probably open up to f8-9 in busy BGs if you're nice and parallel to the subject
