a7rii + Metabones IV & Voightlander 125/2.5 macro, f/4, 12 image focus stack
This is an image of a Miraguama Palm sheath, the part of the plant that gives rises to the leaves. The sheath is particularly complex on this species, and it is not shed, as it is on most palms. The image, in part, was a study in focus stacking, and in this sense I think was successful -- the depth of field of the final image allows one to peer into the several layers of the sheath. But, compositionally I wonder if it is too complicated to be effective, and would appreciate comments, particularly, on that question. C William Davis
