Gasteruptiid Wasp Gasteruption sp.
From my backyard, this Baekea flowers profusely in summer and attracts many nectar feeders, this one is a Gasteruptid wasp which lays eggs on wood boring insects larvae using a long ovipositor. This appears to be a male without an ovipositor. Larger image:Gasteruptid Wasp Olympus OM-D EM-5 MkII + 60 mm macro: Nauticam housing 2 x INON strobes. 1/200 @ f8 ISO800 Chris Ross
