Red Rock Cod Scorpaena cardinalis

Been out of action for a while with a torn ligament in my knee, this is on my second dive since the injury back in May, found it sitting in this sponge soon after descending at Barren's hut located off the Royal National Park south of Sydney.  A substantial surface current had as pulling along the rails on the side of the boat and dragging ourselves down the anchor chain.

The dark rock sets off the striking colors of the fish - love the details. Sorry to read about your knee!

Hi

Cool shot of this little chap - the head looks rather frog like; probably just me lol

All the best

Colorful member of the Scorpionfish family. Love the blue sponge as a backdrop to the red.
I might consider darkening the top a bit as it would e hard to crop out. Did you take any shots a little more head on?

Nice image.
