One of my favorite frogs from the Peruvian Amazon, just at the moment of taking the photo that little bee decided to land on her nose.

Two questions come to mind looking at this great image. One, why does this insectivore not eat the bee? Two, why does the bee look like it is licking an area of the frog that is certainly poisonous?

Nice capture Jeff.

2 great questions, I have seen a rodent going in front of a snake and the snake didn't eat it, I guess it was not hungry... The other one cold be part of minerals that the bee needs, I have seen butterflies liking the tears of some turtles to get some salt... Thanks for looking SMB!

Cool frog. Love amphibians.

The eye looked a little too dark for me, Jeff. I'm surprised that the flash didn't add anything to it - you can usually see the reflection in the eye.
Regards,

Des

Thanks so much Des, I took off the ring flash from the lens and hold it pointing from the side, that is why there is no reflexion of the flat light in the eye... Good feedback about the dark eye, thanks so much for taking the time to share it with me.

Sweet specimen Jeff!
Too bad for the dark eye.Yes the ring light provides very flat light, and that,s why I use a heavily diffused mt-24,dual flash!
