I'm pissed that Epson has stopped producing inks for my Stylus Photo R2880, so I have to replace it. Does anyone have the Canon ProGraf Pro 310? I'm gun shy now about buying a model that's been around a long time for fear that ink for it will go out of production too.

I bought the Pro-310 about 1 month ago and am so far quite happy with it.  I had sat on the fence for some time trying to decide how to replace my ancient Canon 13" printer that had died but all of the tariff discussion pushed me to make a purchase.  Although I wanted to upgrade to a 17" printer both the Epson 900 and the Canon seem to have "issues" and be potentially short lived and/or problematic.  The Epson professional 17" printer sounds wonderful, but it is huge, heavy, expensive and impossible for me to justify given my use (I am not a professional and am not producing prints commercially).

As far as I can tell the Mac printer driver from Canon may not be operating completely correctly when printing out of Lightroom Classic or PhotoShop; however, I have been printing with the Canon Professional Print and Layout application and it seems to be fine.

I can't speak to longevity, but I can say that I'm satisfied with the Pro-310 at this time.  The inks are expensive in the small cartridges but given the small volume of printing that I do the small cartridges may be an advantage (the 200 ml cartridges on the professional Epson 17" would be lifetime cartridges for me).

Thanks for the feedback, Mark. How you used it to print text and how does it do with that? I've  had an Epson for many years now and run OS Ventura 13.7.5 on my iMac
Is the setup easy? What kind of problem are you having printing from LRC or PS? I'm not familiar with the Canon Professional Print and Layout app. Would i have to download that online? I'm not a computer genius.
Thanks

The only text that I have printed is the file information that I include in the margins of each print.  Given the cost of ink I would not be inclined to print text using the Pro-310.

I am running the current Sequoia 15.4.1 on an M1 Max MacBook Pro.

I have not been able to convince myself that the printer driver is correctly using the paper ICC profile from my computer to manage color if I print from either LightRoom Classic or PS.

Canon Professional Print and Layout comes for free with the printer.  It was easy to install, except that it initially loaded the AirPrint driver, which is not what you want to use for photos.  I had to go back to the Canon website to download and install the Canon printer driver.
