I am just getting started with doing 13x19 prints with a Canon 9500 mark ii.

I use a Mac and i have a Xrite Colormunki Photo to do the base calibrations on my monitor and the printer.

The amount of information on the web regarding printing these days is amazing! But a lot of it is conflicting and seems to be mostly subjective.

Is there a book or website that those of you who do fine art prints a lot see as being a good guide to getting quality prints for a relative novice in this. I am fluent in the tech side of this so I get the basics, but I know  that it is the nuances that separate a good print from the great.

TIA

Tom

There are a couple of good starter articles here on NSN written by Eric Chan. Plus various other articles on processing and so on; check our articles section.

For more, among various other resources you can check out Jeff Schewe's two recent books -- The Digital Negative and The Digital Print.

If you have questions on specific issues you can search the forum archives here for topics, or post new queries as well...

"seems to be mostly subjective"
Printing and photography are entirely subjective, and should not to be confused with reality.
At the end of the printing day, it is your eye and mind, looking at your print, in appropriate light, that determines what a good print is.

Creative Digital Printing is an excellent eBook by Guy Tal, and it's in the NSN store, http://www.naturescapes.net/store/creat ... y-tal.html.  Guy approaches photography from an artistic viewpoint instead of just from a technical stance, although his printing eBook is primarily technical in nature just by the nature of the subject.
